Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) held a competition between six architectural firms. Sou Fujimoto Architects proposed a building inspired by MSF's 'Clinic Under a Tree' that operates in Africa.

 

The tree, it's branches, the movement and circulation that such an artifact can create are strongly embedded in the design with its' indoor and outdoor stairs, pathways and tall open patio.
