REACTION DIFFUSION

Project by: KRISTAL.

Program: Research, Animation, 3D Print

Status: Completed

Year: 2017

Reaction-diffusion systems are models that move components towards each other through chemical reactions, and are transported in space by diffusion.

These systems and the patterns they generate can be found in nature on corals, fish, zebras and more.

This study was done in order to better understand natural patterns and the mathematical models they're based on.

When the mathematical model is prepared it can then generate the pattern on any given surface, and can be 'frozen' and 3D printed at any moment of it's growth.
